Mission
In 2010, we have launched the Right to Read national social responsibility campaign. Our main objective is to equip disadvantaged general schools from the rural environment with more than 10.000 books. But beyond this aspect, we first of all want to give these children a right that should have been natural: the access to reading.
Starting from the sad reality that a large number of schools from the rural environment don’t have libraries or have a limited collection of books, but also from our belief that there are many people who support the cause we fight for, we designed this social campaign in two directions.
Thus, for the beginning, we directly donate books for 1st – 8th grade pupils to disadvantaged schools and the furniture required for their storage.
Another component of the campaign is the collection of books, throughout all the bank’s territorial units and the Humanitas Bookstores, partners in this project. Thus, we invite all the supporters of this cause to provide the children from disadvantaged areas with the opportunity to discover their childhood stories.
Our initiative is supported by friends who also wish, by the power of example, to change the world we live in into a better place. They are friends who support educational and cultural actions and who know that future generations can collect the true values from books filled with wisdom.
Jurnalul National, through “Biblioteca pentru Toti”, joined to promote this social program. Marcel Iures’ voice impels all the supporters of this cause, at radio, to donate books.
The Ministry of Education and Research is the institution involved in the selection of general schools across the country, participating in the programme.
Follow us step by step. Together we will contribute to the beautiful building of the next generations.
With trust,
